HAUNTINGS
HAUNTINGS  1    HAUNTINGS 2    HAUNTINGS 3

My friends and I lived in a small rural type setting in Northern Michigan, there was nothing to do for entertainment except ride around in our parents cars. Well, one of the things we decided to do was to go riding through old cemetaries. It was a summer night, and about 3:00 am in the morning. I was driving my mothers truck, and a few of my friends were in the back talking when this little girl with long brownish curly hair and wearing a long white gown ran accross the two track going through the cemetary. I slammed on my brakes and we all got out to see if we could find her, I am guessing she was about 6 years old. We were really concerned that a kid was out at 3:00 am in the moring. We searched and searched and could not find her. This is a small town, and we knew most of the children that lived here. None of us recognized her. To this day I believe it was a ghost.

This one is actually true. It's been talked about on many TV stations including an Los Angeles, California station by "The Earth Man" Garcia. It has to do with a school bus full of children that had stalled on some train tracks in San Antonio, Texas. A train was coming and was going too fast to stop in time to get the bus off the tracks. The bus was hit and all of the children died. It was a great tragedy.  The tracks are located on a curve in the road but the tracks are on a small up-hill grade to both sides.
If you stop your car just on the tracks and put it in neutral, it will slowly start to roll over the little hill and down the other side.
A local Los Angeles, California station sent a crew there to check it out and it was done on tape, with a San Antonio sheriff present. The cars back end was cleaned off of any finger prints before the test was done and after it was done it was dusted for prints. Several small hand prints and finger prints showed up on the bumper, showing that the small hands of the ghost children were pushing the car to get it off the tracks.
There are also claims that this is nothing more than a gravity anomaly allowing a non-moving vehicle to move over a small up-grade. But no one can explain away the hand and finger prints.

A young man and his wife were on a trip to visit his mother. Usually they arrived in time for supper. But they had gotten a late start, and now it was getting dark. So they decided to look for a place to stay overnight and go on in the morning.
Just off the road, they saw a small house in the woods. "Maybe they rent rooms," the wife said. So they stopped to ask. An elderly man and woman came to the door. They didn't rent rooms, they said. But they would be glad to have them stay overnight as their guests. They had plenty of room, and they would enjoy the company. The old woman made coffee and brought out some cake, and the four of them talked for awhile. Then the young couple were taken to their room. They again explained that they wanted to pay for this, but the old man said he would not accept any money.
The young couple got up early the next morning before their hosts had awakened. On a table near the front door, they left an envelope with some money in it for the room. Then they went on to the next town. They stopped in a restaurant a nd had breakfast. When they told the owner where they had stayed, he was shocked. "That can't be," he said. "That house burned to the ground, and the man and the woman who lived there died in the fire."
The young couple could not believe it. So they went back to the house. Only now there was no house. All they found was a burned-out shell. They stood staring at the ruins trying to understand what had happened. Then the woman screamed. In the rubble was a badly burned table, like the one they had seen by the front door. On the table was the envelope they had left that morning.

Paramount's King's Island is a theme/amusement park located near Cincinnati, Ohio. It is supposedly home to several ghosts. One such ghost is a little girl that "plays" with tram operators at night after the park is closed. Another ghost is one of a young man, who in a drunken state, jump from the Eiffel Tower and fell to his death. It has been said that this ghost has left the park though. The third ghost is one called "The Beast" which haunts the rollercoaster with the same name.

Stepp Cemetary is located in southern Indiana, in between Martinsville and Bloomington on State Road 37 in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest. In the State Forest, you can find this cemetary. It was established in the early 1800s. As park employees will tell some visitors to the cemetary, the cemetary was suspect to witchcraft rituals and other pagan rituals. At the time that I had visited the cemetary for a folklore project, there had been wax on two stumps in the cemetary. One of the stumps also appeared to have blood on it. The principle story from this cemetary dealt with one of these two stumps. The stump on the south end of the cemetary was relatively near some very worn tombstones. The story goes that a woman had buried her young child there. The child had been involved in an accident with the road. After the child was buried, the mother had been very melancholy. She had a nearby tree cut down so that she could watch over her child's grave. After the woman's death, stories began to circulate that the woman could be seen cradling the young child.

The following story is something that still gives me chills when I talk about it. About 10 yrs ago I was living in a small town in Texas. We lived in a set of duplexes where some of his family lived and my boyfriend worked with his sister. One morning I was to babysit their little boy (I'll call him Joey) who was about 3 yrs old. It was still dark when everyone else left for work and I settled down on the couch to take a nap before the Joey woke up for the day. I had slept for maybe 30 minutes when I heard the singing. That is what woke me up. Joey was singing a little song in one of the back bedrooms. When I called to him to come in the living room and sit with me, I still had my eyes closed. The couch faced the front door and away from the kitchen and hallway. When the singing got about halfway down the hall, I realized that it couldn't be him because his mother taken him with her that day and he wasn't in the house. I literally couldn't move. All I could do was say in my head, "Please don't come and sit beside me!" I could hear the little footsteps coming down the hall getting closer, then they passed right behind me and turned into the kitchen. I could hear very distinctly the slap of the bare feet as they hit the linoleum. It was very vivid. I was scared out of my wits and freaking out. Then they and the song just stopped in front of the sink. My hair was standing on end and I was trembling a bit as I opened my eyes. I got up and looked in the kitchen and saw nothing. I turned on every light in the house and, despite it being mid-summer in Texas, opened the front door and the windows so I could see out. I spent the rest of the day with the door open, tv on full blast sitting very close to the door. When they all got home that evening, I told only my boyfriend, and he insisted that I had been dreaming as I have always had very vivid dreams. But it was the singing that woke me up. By the way, this isn't the only time his family has had weird occurences happen. I wonder if it was something that had followed them there and was just saying hi.

Cedar Point Amusement Park - The carousel in the park is an old one, with hand carved horses. Legend has it that the man who carved the horses for the carousel caught his wife cheating on him with a jockey from the local horse track. He shot and killed them both for their infidelity. There is a black horse on the carousel with bones carved into his mane, and the image of a jockey is carved into the saddle of another horse. Employees have reported hearing the music of the carousel at night while it spins backwards. They have also reported leaving it at night and arriving the next morning to find the horses in different positions.
